Future Efforts

I won't be bugging on RuneScape anymore, I'll be focusing more on 2006Scape, an exact remake of RuneScape in 2006. The game is currently in Pre-Alpha and being worked on day in and day out.

The game is extremely buggy right now. I've found one extremely easy duplication bug, no-clip methods, Forced Teleport's, mini-game effect smuggles, and a few other bugs. Some of these will be functional in the full release.

One thing I dislike about this project is the cocky admins. They act as if they're untouchable. I had warned one of the admins that somebody had access to multiple domains and emails, they didn't list. I was banned from the IRC for trying to help. If it continues, it will destroy the project. Many bug abusers from RuneScape would happily join 2006Scape just to piss them off.

It will be 1x experience, all NPCs properly placed, all mini-games fully working, every quest up until May 15, 2006, accurate monster drop tables, etc.

If you'd like to try it, here's some links:

This is their original website but a hacker currently has control over it. I don't recommend visiting it, I can't guarantee it's safe.

This is their current website, it is secure. Make an account, swing by the IRC, post on the forums, hang out!

www.runebit.com
This is one of their forums. It is being controlled by the hacker as I post this.

Extra Info:

No updates will be included past May 15, 2006, that is the cut-off date for content.

The game is in Pre-Alpha as I post this.

  3. Haven't looked at this blog in a while. Thanks for commenting Roy. It was fun while it lasted but the moment they sold in-game items for money, I lost hope. All of those bugs were fun but I didn't bug for pure profit it was mostly for fun and make some $ here and there.
