Flood/Flooding

- The Flood -

What we called a "Flood" was a massive chunk of data sent to the server, consisting of 1,000+ commands. The server can only process so many commands at once and there are some that get tossed, and aren't processed at all.

- My First Flood/Infinite Prayer How-To -

The first and easiest flood ever (IMO) was the Loot-share Flood. If you wanted infinite prayer, you'd turn your prayers on, open up an interface, and spam the Loot-share button until your prayer ran out. When the prayer would run out, it'd close the interface and send all of the commands at once. The interface acted like a barrier or a dam holding back a lot of water. When the commands were sent to turn Loot-share On/Off thousands of times, the command to disable prayer when you run out of points was discarded, unprocessed.

- Confusion/Priority -

You'd normally think clicking a button while an interface is open, would close the interface. This wasn't the case, it has to do with priority and the Loot-share button had a lower priority than an interface and when clicked, there's no reason to close your current interface and it might be useful under some circumstances for normal game-play. The Clan tab/Loot-share button can be accessed while in a cut-scene, maybe this has something to do with it.

- # of Commands? -

It never really mattered to me but there is a specific # of commands that you have to stack up for it to become useful. I'm guessing about one thousand commands need to be stacked up for it to work.
- Current Flood Uses -

- Infinite Prayer
- Invisible PKing
- Free-walk Cut-scenes
- Form Smuggling
- Item Smuggling
- Quest/Mini-game Area Effect Smuggling

A lot more will be added to this post soon!
